TK22V10H High Temperature PAL
Preliminary
General Description
The Tekmos TK22V10H is a user programmable, high temperature PAL. With 10 bi-directional outputs and 12 inputs, the TK22V10H provides the designer with unparalleled flexibility in the high temperature environment. The Tekmos TK22V10H will operate up to 300ºC. This high temperature operation is achieved through the use of a special high temperature SOI process. This process has tungsten metallization, which prevents the metal migration problems associated with traditional aluminum interconnect.
Reliability is enhanced through the use of gold-nickel-palladium bond pads and double bonding with gold bond wires. This prevents the formation of intermetallic compounds which can limit reliability.
The TK22V10H is fuse map compatible with existing 22V10s. This allows the use of any existing PAL programming software to program the Tekmos part. Since the TK22V10H is RAM based, the part is programmed through a serial bitstream. All outputs are tri-stated during the initial programing process to avoid accidental circuit operation. The TK22V10H is programmed through a SPI interface. Each output may be configured as combinational or registered. The output may be optionally inverted, and individually tri-stated. If tri-stated, the output may be used as an input.
The clock for registered outputs is directly connected to a pin for improved speed performance.
All inputs have a CMOS Schmitt trigger for improved operation in noisy environments. All inputs and outputs have a build in pull-up or pull-down resistors.
While the TK22V10 is designed for 5 volt operation, it will operate with reduced performance down to 2.7 volts.
The TK22V10H is packaged in a ceramic, 44-pin, quad flatpack. It is also available in die form for use in hybrid applications.
